Second observer complained of an unusual pattern on Spicam. Observer was concerned and so I promised to include what we saw in the night log. After an hour of observing we took flats in the i and r fliters. Both showed the same pattern, which was vaugely mushroom shaped. Observer commented that he had not seen anything like this the last time he observed with spicam. Flat fielding should take care of this, but I am unaware of any strange patterns on the CCD. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:46 AGILE -1325(-2322) 85 24 -0.9 1.8 1.0 1.1 -0.9 BG40 2.50 20:44 AGILE -1225(-2401) 151 68 -0.9 -0.5 -0.3 -0.8 -1.0 BG40 1.40 00:34 SPICAM 464( -31) 318 60 1.6 1.0 1.5 1.0 1.2 r 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 35 13 3 241 (WSW) 2380 clear none 17:00 36 10 6 272 (W) 1895 clear none 18:00 30 4 6 358 (N) 1649 ptly cldy none 19:00 31 -5 8 332 (NNW) 786 ptly cldy none 20:00 30 3 4 343 (NNW) 906 ptly cldy none 21:00 29 5 8 30 (NNE) 1485 mstly clr none 22:00 34 0 9 357 (N) 861 clear none 23:00 36 -3 3 340 (NNW) 514 clear none 00:00 36 -3 6 349 (N) 422 clear none 01:00 35 1 11 15 (NNE) 397 clear none 02:00 34 0 1 209 (SSW) 491 clear none 03:00 34 -1 5 284 (WNW) 523 clear none 04:00 32 1 4 191 (S) 902 clear none 05:00 32 -4 9 249 (WSW) 502 clear none 06:00 33 -6 6 198 (SSW) 408 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
