I reconnected and restarted the nubs. When the checkout script got to the Echelle I got this error (It actually completed an echelle image, then gave an error). 23:42:58 APO.Jack-Obs1 18 echelle f text="error from motor controller: '\x15[Invalid Command]\r>'" The second attempt to take an Echelle image (no other intervention on my part) worked fine. The EchelleCals script put the data in the root directory /export/images/Q1APO/UT120220 instead of an echelle sub-directory. I don't recall it doing this before for the eAur program. Did something change? Low clouds and wind just above limit delayed us getting on the sky at the start of the night. We opened around 18:50 just long enough to get focused and then the clouds came back with a vengance. The clouds never left for the remainder of the night. My observer threw in the towel at 04:35. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:05 TSPEC 553( 122) 70 52 -0.9 1.0 0.9 0.9 -0.6 Ks 1.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 36 12 29 232 (SW) 1828 mstly cldy none 17:00 35 15 28 250 (WSW) 1116 mstly cldy none 18:00 32 13 32 258 (WSW) 1249 mstly cldy none 19:00 31 15 23 270 (W) 1217 mstly cldy none 20:00 31 18 23 259 (W) 1157 cloudy none 21:00 30 18 20 269 (W) 1078 cloudy none 22:00 29 17 16 255 (WSW) 1155 cloudy none 23:00 29 17 17 265 (W) 1291 cloudy none 00:00 28 15 25 278 (W) 3070 cloudy dust 01:00 27 15 29 274 (W) 2825 cloudy dust 02:00 25 15 20 263 (W) 4465 cloudy dust 03:00 24 17 19 270 (W) 2128 cloudy none 04:00 23 14 22 270 (W) 1161 cloudy none 05:00 23 12 16 271 (W) 1122 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
