At midnight completely overcast. Closed at midnight due to local radar returns and overcast skies. Closed all second half. TSPEC slit wheel claimed it is in the 1.1" but was obviously in the 0.7" slit. Mike Skrutskie was on at the time. I manually set the position with a tcamera tcc command. Then he tried to move the slit to the 1.1" slit, but it got stuck in bewteen (see file t0906.fits). Mike was speaking to Matt Nelson on his end and they eventually got it to move with some low level commands. However, it still has the 0.7" slit mask. A new correct 1.1" mask needs to be taken and the file updated. UVa folks also wanted to use xephem to send slew commands to TUI but were apparently getting blocked. They were logged in as XE01, and I gave that program tcc permissions. I saw no errors in the TUI log. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UV04 T I/S 21:45 22:15 TSPEC slit wheel stuck ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:13 ECHELLE 614(-1106) 131 71 -0.8 0.6 0.5 -0.0 -0.7 ND1 1.06 18:44 TSPEC 565( 58) 148 76 -0.7 -0.1 -0.0 -0.5 -1.0 0.94 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 33 18 18 293 (WNW) 1309 clear none 17:00 34 18 16 262 (W) 1399 clear none 18:00 30 17 15 246 (WSW) 1475 clear none 19:00 31 14 15 266 (W) 1291 clear none 20:00 32 11 21 265 (W) 1211 mstly cldy none 21:00 32 14 19 259 (W) 1519 mstly cldy none 22:00 32 15 17 266 (W) 1529 cloudy none 23:00 32 16 17 250 (WSW) 1747 cloudy none 00:00 32 17 18 241 (WSW) 1762 cloudy none 01:00 31 18 22 236 (SW) 1793 cloudy none 02:00 30 18 17 246 (WSW) 1722 cloudy none 03:00 29 18 18 256 (WSW) 1731 cloudy none 04:00 28 17 17 252 (WSW) 1629 cloudy none 05:00 29 19 17 256 (WSW) 1638 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
