The telescope worked well, as did the new echelle slitviewer. We had a little difficulty getting a valid maskfile for Tspec (the previous maskfile had problems due to the brighness of the new quartz lamps). However, this only took up time while the observer was waiting for his target to reach an observable altitude, so I didn't count it as lost. There was one failure with NICFPS just after mounting, easily fixed with "nicfps expose init." As far as we could tell from inspection, the other NICFPS images were all right. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:19 ECHELLE 633(-1055) 219 69 1.2 1.2 1.0 1.2 1.1 ND2 1.40 04:22 NICFPS 401( 152) 253 55 -0.6 -1.2 -0.7 -1.3 -1.3 MK-H 0.99 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 33 15 10 316 (NW) 304 clear none 17:00 33 16 4 340 (NNW) 307 clear none 18:00 33 16 5 317 (NW) 329 clear none 19:00 34 17 12 346 (NNW) 310 clear none 20:00 34 17 4 20 (NNE) 321 clear none 21:00 34 18 9 1 (N) 490 clear none 22:00 35 18 14 342 (NNW) 473 clear none 23:00 34 18 13 301 (WNW) 528 clear none 00:00 34 18 14 315 (NW) 527 clear none 01:00 33 18 9 275 (W) 549 clear none 02:00 32 18 5 194 (SSW) 696 clear none 03:00 32 18 8 219 (SW) 705 clear none 04:00 31 18 9 210 (SSW) 673 clear none 05:00 31 18 11 204 (SSW) 645 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
