During PU05 program, we noticed a horizontal streak across the echelle slitviewer, extending from the cetner of the star outward. I would normally attribute this to a bright star, but this was only V=10.5, and the filter was ND3. A good example is e1833.fits. Not sure if this is abnormal, just thought it was worth mentioning. Clouds began to roll in at 20:00, and became really thick by 23:00. CU05 could not push past the clouds with NICFPS, and gave up at 3:35. During his program, NICFPS-ICC crashed, and several exposures were hung-up. Check PR 1407 for details. UW13 called in at 4:50, and was discouraged by the clouds, so opted not to observer. Closed for the night then. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU05 NICFPS I/S 02:45 03:47 nicfps exposures would not read out ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:40 ECHELLE 516(-1228) 273 34 -2.7 -0.8 -0.5 -0.5 -2.5 ND3 2.40 22:25 ECHELLE 574(-1293) 128 56 -3.6 -2.5 -2.1 -2.4 -3.3 ND2 1.30 00:20 NICFPS 483( 321) -29 48 1.6 0.4 0.3 0.4 1.6 H2-2.12 1.49 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 32 4 14 150 (SSE) 0 clear none 17:00 28 5 12 161 (SSE) 0 clear none 18:00 27 11 16 167 (SSE) 0 clear none 19:00 29 12 16 183 (S) 0 clear none 20:00 30 9 9 180 (S) 0 mstly clr none 21:00 32 8 12 168 (SSE) 0 mstly clr none 22:00 26 9 16 137 (SE) 0 ptly cldy none 23:00 30 8 20 196 (SSW) 0 mstly cldy none 00:00 30 8 17 155 (SSE) 0 mstly cldy none 01:00 36 12 24 183 (S) 0 mstly cldy none 02:00 31 13 18 176 (S) 0 cloudy none 03:00 35 12 18 199 (SSW) 0 cloudy none 04:00 37 13 18 196 (SSW) 0 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
