The 3.4 that I recorded was the minimum, and it was variable up to six arcseconds. You read that correctly. SIX! The wind forced us closed after only an hour (not that we were getting anything). Wind stayed very high for all of first half and part of second half. We also had blowing snow. I reopened at 02:30. The wind stayed down for the rest of the night, although the seeing was still terrible. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:49 dis-slit 144( -858) -31 47 -9.6 -6.3 -5.6 -6.4 -9.1 -- 3.40 02:48 dis-slit 563( -421) 149 65 -3.5 -5.6 -5.5 -5.2 -4.1 -- 1.50 Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
