We had somewhat of a thinning overhead, around 19:20, so we attempted to get on sky with GIFS as radar returns were still fairly safely away. By the time we got GIFS focused the clouds got much worse and we needed to close. We never re-opened. 40MPH+ gusts for most of 2nd half with just a little precip (ice pellets) but no accumulation. I gave up at 03:50 . ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:02 GIFS 425( 59) -101 43 2.7 3.1 3.0 3.3 2.5 Red 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 12 8 186 (S) 391 mstly cldy none 17:00 36 10 17 182 (S) 180 mstly cldy none 18:00 35 8 13 195 (SSW) 127 mstly cldy none 19:00 35 11 13 205 (SSW) 209 mstly cldy none 20:00 37 15 15 188 (S) 179 cloudy none 21:00 38 20 21 181 (S) 239 cloudy none 22:00 36 15 25 144 (SE) 363 cloudy none 23:00 38 17 21 163 (SSE) 405 cloudy none 00:00 39 20 21 190 (S) 534 cloudy lt rain 01:00 37 23 13 186 (S) 492 cloudy lt snow 02:00 38 27 17 182 (S) 560 cloudy lt snow 03:00 36 28 28 165 (SSE) 370 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
