Had multiple problems, though ironically none with the spicam instrument... The hub crashed sometime during a 20 minute exposure that was started at 19:47, and we discovered the problem at 20:05. We called Fritz, here is his blurb on it: "There was a long running test program on the hub computer, and it had a memory leak and used most of the memory. I killed the program, and the hub failed." We lost about and hour to this problem, plus the 20 minutes for the lost exposure. When we got hub back, the gcam nub refused to connect, and so I called Fritz again. We were running short science exposures that did not need the guider, so I didn't count this as lost time. Got fully up and running again at 21:30. At the beginning of second half we had a problem with pre-existing files in the Q4UV03/UT121120 folder. It would not let Anne take her images at all. I deleted them, and it was ok. Sorry to anyone who needed them (Anne said she didn't), I did try to save them in a new folder before deleting but it didn't work. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NM06 S T/S 19:47 21:30 hub crashed and lost 20 min exp. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:11 SPICAM 137( -108) 60 39 2.9 5.4 5.2 5.5 3.3 MSSS0 V 2.12 22:52 SPICAM 381( 12) -16 57 4.0 3.4 3.8 3.6 3.7 MSSSO I 1.31 01:22 SPICAM 378( -25) -31 75 5.4 2.9 3.6 2.8 3.8 MSSSO R 1.18 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 40 27 3 289 (WNW) 113 mstly clr none 17:00 37 27 6 14 (NNE) 96 mstly clr none 18:00 34 19 8 22 (NNE) 132 clear none 19:00 38 6 8 7 (N) 97 clear none 20:00 39 7 13 15 (NNE) 86 clear none 21:00 41 -1 22 23 (NNE) 54 clear none 22:00 39 -1 13 36 (NE) 71 clear none 23:00 38 3 15 27 (NNE) 113 clear none 00:00 40 -1 5 82 (E) 62 clear none 01:00 41 -1 6 112 (ESE) 56 clear none 02:00 42 0 4 195 (SSW) 53 clear none 03:00 42 0 3 198 (SSW) 41 clear none 04:00 42 0 3 199 (SSW) 44 ptly cldy none 05:00 42 0 3 116 (ESE) 37 ptly cldy none 06:00 42 0 9 148 (SSE) 27 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
