Second half observer didn't show (probably due to that little storm called Hurricane Sandy ravaging the East coast tonight). He sent me instructions and finder chartss yesterday to do the observations for him, just in case. I took the data for the PU04 program tonight. Echelle mirror gave me some problems moving but a few re-tries of the command eventually got it to move in place. I checked each time to make sure it was in the correct position, which it was. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:54 NICFPS 375( 752) 87 65 8.7 11.3 10.7 11.9 9.0 Ks 0.65 18:55 NA2gdr -1940(41059) 86 65 8.7 11.2 10.5 11.7 8.8 Clear 0.99 19:44 NICFPS 265( 556) 76 75 8.8 9.6 9.3 9.4 8.3 Ks 0.50 19:45 NA2gdr -2868(40132) 75 75 8.9 9.6 9.3 9.4 8.3 clear 0.76 21:34 NICFPS 283( 525) -65 80 9.0 8.7 9.0 8.6 8.9 J 0.84 01:14 ECHELLE 410( -893) 110 53 8.8 8.5 9.0 8.6 8.3 ND3 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 51 12 14 322 (NW) 273 clear none 17:00 50 14 6 358 (N) 629 clear none 18:00 49 13 5 349 (N) 607 clear none 19:00 48 13 10 322 (NW) 555 clear none 20:00 48 13 11 302 (WNW) 378 clear none 21:00 48 15 11 305 (NW) 297 clear none 22:00 49 16 9 274 (W) 416 clear none 23:00 49 13 13 288 (WNW) 292 clear none 00:00 49 13 11 266 (W) 390 clear none 01:00 48 14 12 274 (W) 381 clear none 02:00 49 13 19 307 (NW) 279 clear none 03:00 49 13 15 334 (NNW) 332 clear none 04:00 47 14 13 344 (NNW) 373 clear none 05:00 47 12 15 6 (N) 291 clear none 06:00 48 9 15 341 (NNW) 218 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
