Rather poor seeing with wind out of the East. We noticed a glow on the left side of the NICFPS images in Ks. This was not visible in the H images I used for focusing. Nothing in J either. Private email sent to engineers. Seeing improved later in the night as the wind direction changed. I manually tweaked TSPEC focus during 2nd half. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:37 SPICAM 514( 597) -34 50 9.9 12.1 11.3 12.1 10.0 V 1.48 19:39 NA2gdr 3000(33000) -35 50 9.7 12.0 11.2 12.4 10.0 R 1.30 20:54 NICFPS 293( 659) -56 39 9.9 10.4 10.3 10.2 9.5 H 0.92 20:57 NA2gdr -1826(41173) -57 38 9.9 10.4 10.2 10.2 9.6 R 1.13 22:17 ECHELLE 402( -879) -109 75 8.9 9.2 9.6 9.2 8.8 ND5 1.48 00:02 dis-slit 321( 8) -89 66 7.2 7.6 8.1 7.6 7.1 -- 2.30 00:45 TSPEC 366( 234) -120 77 7.5 7.3 7.8 7.3 7.0 Ks 1.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 55 30 1 193 (SSW) 530 mstly cldy none 17:00 53 34 3 73 (ENE) 563 ptly cldy none 18:00 53 35 5 46 (NE) 608 ptly cldy none 19:00 50 35 11 55 (NE) 588 mstly clr none 20:00 50 33 4 12 (NNE) 607 mstly clr none 21:00 50 33 12 52 (NE) 621 clear none 22:00 49 31 15 60 (ENE) 568 clear none 23:00 47 32 19 72 (ENE) 632 clear none 00:00 45 21 9 81 (E) 757 clear none 01:00 46 31 8 74 (ENE) 791 clear none 02:00 48 32 4 272 (W) 595 clear none 03:00 47 32 6 220 (SW) 612 clear none 04:00 48 31 9 225 (SW) 686 clear none 05:00 46 32 8 219 (SW) 730 clear none 06:00 46 32 9 228 (SW) 760 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
