Mostly the night went smoothly except for one case where the wrong position was centered (the observer knew she had pressed Center Sel, but she was pretty sure she had not clicked on the position listed - this occurred at 01:43:32 UT). No time was lost to this, but I did puzzle over it while we were doing other things. There was also a cluster of ecam problems which required a slitty reboot to fix. Although it came up quickly and smoothly, I delayed attempting the reboot as a last resort so we did lose a few minutes with no guiding while I tried lesser solutions. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NM02 E I/S 22:05 22:18 Slitty crash ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:42 dis-slit 451( 4) -96 53 2.8 4.7 4.8 4.2 2.9 - 1.30 19:49 ECHELLE 541(-1001) 33 44 3.9 3.6 4.0 3.5 3.4 ND2 1.05 01:21 ECHELLE 501(-1099) -139 35 2.5 2.1 2.6 2.0 1.8 ND2 0.86 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 39 12 1 318 (NW) 300 clear none 17:00 38 14 3 346 (NNW) 340 clear none 18:00 38 15 20 19 (NNE) 1110 clear none 19:00 38 16 18 13 (NNE) 256 clear none 20:00 38 20 20 27 (NNE) 93 clear none 21:00 38 19 12 28 (NNE) 293 clear none 22:00 38 18 18 31 (NNE) 79 clear none 23:00 36 18 5 21 (NNE) 104 clear none 00:00 37 17 5 209 (SSW) 163 clear none 01:00 36 17 3 191 (S) 196 clear none 02:00 37 17 4 193 (SSW) 181 clear none 03:00 36 18 5 188 (S) 304 clear none 04:00 34 16 6 188 (S) 313 clear none 05:00 36 16 8 193 (SSW) 298 clear none 06:00 35 14 11 206 (SSW) 388 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
