Seeing was terrible, but improved shortly after sunset. Apollo was able to get the optics aligned when the seeing improved halfway through their time. After the alignemnet, the run went extremely well. First half was plagued by some light clouds which were thick for about a half hour. At about 22:30 they cleared, and stayed clear the rest of the night. Seeing was decent to mediocre. No other problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:37 APOLLO 600( 759) 71 55 1.3 2.9 2.8 2.5 1.7 -- 2.50 18:50 ECHELLE 527(-1146) -115 56 1.0 1.3 1.6 1.1 1.0 ND2 0.97 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 38 16 11 261 (W) 858 ptly cldy none 17:00 36 16 12 258 (WSW) 1105 mstly clr none 18:00 33 16 12 263 (W) 974 clear none 19:00 34 14 10 265 (W) 964 ptly cldy none 20:00 35 12 12 278 (W) 859 ptly cldy none 21:00 35 12 13 279 (W) 753 mstly cldy none 22:00 34 9 12 276 (W) 707 mstly cldy none 23:00 34 9 14 277 (W) 531 ptly cldy none 00:00 33 10 11 290 (WNW) 506 clear none 01:00 33 11 11 329 (NNW) 580 clear none 02:00 32 12 9 324 (NW) 589 clear none 03:00 31 12 15 351 (N) 641 clear none 04:00 32 12 20 317 (NW) 766 clear none 05:00 31 12 8 323 (NW) 713 clear none 06:00 30 14 10 359 (N) 747 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
