We close at 00:10, rain at 00:30 First darks my second half observers took showed the problem Bill has been seeing with the block pattern. Restarted electronics We started having more internet connectivity problems around 00:40 when my 2nd half observers kept getting logged off TUI. I did another traceroute and the internet problems seemed closer towards our end (and all along the internet) this time. PR submitted and traceroute outputs copied to that PR. Internet connectivity was hit and miss all second half, but we were clouded out due to clouds anyway. We re-opened at 04:20, after waiting for 40 mins to see if the sky would stay clear. Internet connectivity issues still were a big problem. The connection kept failing for the remote users. Then withing a few mins of actually opening the clouds started to re-appear and just made things even more difficult. Very frustrating for all of us. 2nd half observer noted that there seemed to be a difference between the left and right readout on the chip that didn't subtract out. I noticed this also when I took the focus image. I reset the camera but that didn't clear it and it wasn't the normal zero block image type of thing. images can be found in the UC04 data directory for examination. Also see Q3APO/UT110909/nfocus.0010.fits (before init) and nfocus.0020 (after init) nfocus.0027 (dark at end of the night which I could barely see something in the 0 frame). We closed at 05:20 with clouds and the threat of rain approaching. 05:50 rain sensor went off. For Joe H., the current 180L LN2 tank valve for NICFPS leaks, be sure to close it really tight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:34 TSPEC 275( 465) -101 76 10.9 13.5 13.4 13.0 11.3 Ks 1.30 21:48 ECHELLE 332( -829) 21 56 10.3 11.4 11.6 11.1 10.4 clear 1.45 04:46 NICFPS 236( 572) 212 44 9.3 10.0 10.3 9.9 9.2 Ks 1.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 60 29 7 223 (SW) 1287 cloudy none 17:00 57 29 8 191 (S) 1299 cloudy none 18:00 57 30 6 152 (SSE) 1247 cloudy none 19:00 55 29 4 157 (SSE) 1275 mstly cldy none 20:00 54 29 4 113 (ESE) 1382 ptly cldy none 21:00 51 31 11 87 (E) 1416 ptly cldy none 22:00 51 28 11 89 (E) 1589 ptly cldy none 23:00 52 26 8 95 (E) 1442 ptly cldy none 00:00 55 27 1 188 (S) 1218 cloudy rain 01:00 53 29 6 82 (E) 1010 cloudy none 02:00 54 31 2 127 (SE) 954 cloudy none 03:00 53 32 2 136 (SE) 817 mstly cldy none 04:00 51 29 1 211 (SSW) 1135 ptly cldy none 05:00 49 27 7 95 (E) 1446 mstly cldy lt rain 06:00 47 28 12 84 (E) 1789 cloudy lt rain Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
