Echelle interorder light measured to be 14.0. Serious TSPEC slitviewer problem at start of night. While creating new slitviewer mask it was noticed that the slit was rotated off position. After driving slit wheel through all slits the new slit position was even further off position. Call to B.Ketzeback and M.Nelson for help with temporary solution; see PR1283. Intermittent light cloud cover till around midnight when thickening clouds and incoming radar caused us to close. Reopened for a short while until more clouds and fast moving radar caused closure for the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:39 TSPEC 450( 794) 123 62 14.5 16.5 15.6 16.7 14.9 -- 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 38 6 216 (SW) 1195 cloudy none 17:00 61 37 11 181 (S) 1411 cloudy none 18:00 61 38 15 205 (SSW) 1200 mstly cldy none 19:00 59 38 8 184 (S) 1262 mstly clr none 20:00 58 38 17 148 (SSE) 1309 mstly clr none 21:00 58 37 15 152 (SSE) 1357 mstly cldy none 22:00 58 36 16 180 (S) 1312 mstly clr none 23:00 58 36 12 181 (S) 1391 ptly cldy none 00:00 56 36 13 177 (S) 1289 cloudy none 01:00 57 37 15 182 (S) 1248 cloudy none 02:00 56 37 13 185 (S) 1377 mstly cldy none 03:00 56 36 12 176 (S) 1335 mstly clr none 04:00 54 36 12 180 (S) 1283 ptly cldy none 05:00 54 36 7 183 (S) 1140 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
