Began on-sky pointing model but could determine no fault in the telescope's pointing. First observers managed to get on sky briefly before clouds came back. Second observer used NICFPS and noted that some images were partially corrupted for reasons unknown. Ex. /images/Q3UC04/UT110813/20110813.0010.fits[0]. On other images observer noted that left and right side of the chip would report different number of counts. When NICFPS was upside down, received a "bad environment" indicator and an error report from the pressure sensor, pressure was slightly too high. The rotator problem may still persist. Third observer reported no problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:21 dis-slit 256( 402) 91 62 15.6 16.5 16.8 16.4 15.9 1.10 03:50 NICFPS 275( 862) 194 58 16.8 15.4 15.8 15.2 15.8 MK-Ks 1.10 05:25 ECHELLE 363( -608) 121 51 15.3 15.0 15.4 14.8 15.3 ND3 0.88 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 47 4 146 (SE) 580 cloudy rain 17:00 60 51 10 87 (E) 683 cloudy lt rain 18:00 63 52 8 129 (SE) 510 cloudy none 19:00 63 52 2 180 (S) 597 mstly cldy none 20:00 62 52 6 254 (WSW) 601 mstly cldy lt rain 21:00 61 50 8 226 (SW) 640 mstly cldy none 22:00 62 49 8 186 (S) 714 mstly cldy none 23:00 61 49 5 183 (S) 623 ptly cldy none 00:00 61 49 8 216 (SW) 621 cloudy none 01:00 60 50 6 246 (WSW) 631 cloudy none 02:00 60 50 5 152 (SSE) 711 mstly cldy none 03:00 60 50 4 98 (E) 701 ptly cldy none 04:00 62 47 1 239 (WSW) 675 ptly cldy none 05:00 59 49 5 95 (E) 633 ptly cldy none 06:00 59 48 6 90 (E) 631 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
