By 22:00 we had a strong smell of smoke outside and dust levels (1.0um) slowly increasing. 0.3um levels were pretty high, I assume the smoke particles are pretty small from this. We should CO2 clean the mirror to be safe because of elevated dust/smoke tonight. Internal UW13/UW16 trade tonight, UW16 observed from 23:00 to 01:04 ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:40 SPICAM 232( 684) -3 75 17.7 19.7 18.6 18.5 18.4 Strom Y 0.86 20:51 NA2gdr -2(29997) 122 39 17.6 19.3 18.3 18.1 17.9 R 0.92 22:00 SPICAM 162( 498) -5 70 16.7 17.4 17.2 16.5 16.7 Strom Y 0.71 22:01 NA2gdr 905(30905) -6 70 16.6 17.4 17.2 16.5 16.7 clear 0.73 23:08 ECHELLE 298( -607) -135 73 16.6 16.6 17.2 16.2 16.3 ND3 0.80 01:22 dis-slit 199( 307) -39 44 15.2 15.4 15.8 15.0 15.0 -- 1.50 01:23 NA2gdr 2904(24904) -39 44 15.0 15.3 15.8 14.9 15.0 clear 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 75 30 30 217 (SW) 2274 clear none 17:00 70 28 30 260 (W) 2311 ptly cldy none 18:00 71 28 28 258 (WSW) 3538 ptly cldy none 19:00 69 25 24 266 (W) 2866 ptly cldy none 20:00 65 22 17 256 (WSW) 2418 ptly cldy none 21:00 63 19 11 274 (W) 1899 ptly cldy none 22:00 62 19 13 275 (W) 3152 mstly clr none 23:00 62 20 16 274 (W) 3870 clear none 00:00 61 18 17 277 (W) 3484 clear none 01:00 60 17 10 280 (W) 2501 clear none 02:00 59 16 15 276 (W) 1579 clear none 03:00 58 16 13 267 (W) 1340 clear none 04:00 57 14 13 273 (W) 1014 clear none 05:00 56 14 15 293 (WNW) 940 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
