I had to reset the DIS robotics, I got a "motor position error for grating 4" error and was not able to clear it with issuing various dis home commands alone. I had the problem resolved before sunset, but the gratings were a little uncooperative during calibration and it took a few integrations to get things correct again. most likely due to the robotics power being cycled and homing things several times in the process. The observer used twilight to get their wavecals. 00:45:02 APO.Jack-Obs1 27 dis f distxt="reported motor position for grating 4 is odd" The enclosure widget was showing ? for eyelids and tert rot. Did the power get cycled or did we have a power glitch today? Eyelids and mirror covers worked fine without any need for being reset at the switch, just enclosure status was showing ?. Moving them to the correct position fixed the problems. The Echelle slitview camera quit around 03:10. Slitty computer hard crashed (unresponsive) and needed power cycling on intermediate level. We lost about 18 mins of on sky time due to this problem. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:13 dis-slit 184( 514) 105 59 16.9 20.1 18.5 18.7 18.4 -- 1.20 01:19 ECHELLE 313( -644) 146 68 14.7 15.5 15.5 14.9 14.8 ND3 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 18:00 69 27 8 354 (N) 411 clear none 19:00 67 24 18 326 (NW) 346 clear none 20:00 65 23 1 223 (SW) 234 clear none 21:00 63 21 3 77 (ENE) 257 clear none 22:00 63 21 9 14 (NNE) 291 clear none 23:00 60 31 14 81 (E) 1239 clear none 00:00 62 22 9 37 (NE) 479 clear none 01:00 62 26 16 49 (NE) 1097 clear none 02:00 57 35 13 82 (E) 1833 clear none 03:00 57 35 14 67 (ENE) 2357 clear none 04:00 55 37 14 79 (E) 2149 clear none 05:00 61 23 2 259 (W) 1272 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
