After that, everything went smoothly. Seeing was more stable than previous nights so during changeover I checked and found that there is still a modest discrepancy between the slitviewer and spectrograph best focus values; we will work around this until there is time to fix it properly at the next engineering. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:19 dis-slit 91( 6) 175 63 12.2 12.0 12.3 11.6 11.9 g 1.40 01:19 dis-slit 116( 30) 175 63 12.2 12.0 12.3 11.5 11.9 r 1.20 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 21 31 268 (W) 2517 clear none 17:00 64 24 29 264 (W) 2770 clear none 18:00 63 22 30 260 (W) 2540 clear none 19:00 61 24 19 265 (W) 2883 clear none 20:00 57 24 14 304 (NW) 6906 clear dust 21:00 55 24 17 283 (WNW) 7589 clear dust 22:00 55 24 13 275 (W) 3378 clear none 23:00 55 24 15 281 (W) 2954 clear none 00:00 55 22 19 293 (WNW) 3178 clear none 01:00 55 21 18 315 (NW) 2859 clear none 02:00 54 18 11 319 (NW) 2867 clear none 03:00 54 18 15 311 (NW) 2663 clear none 04:00 53 23 8 347 (NNW) 2597 clear none 05:00 54 24 5 272 (W) 2979 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
