Wind and dust were borderline but we were able to stay open all night. I made a seasonal adjustment to the internal spectrograph focus before the night began, but seeing wasn't stable enough to get a good determination of whether this improved the slight disagreement between slitviewer and spectrograph noticed during engineering a couple of weeks ago. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:11 dis-slit 100( 271) 48 62 14.9 17.0 16.3 15.7 15.7 - 1.30 01:16 dis-slit 181( 125) 10 65 12.3 12.6 12.8 12.2 12.3 - 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 72 19 40 238 (WSW) 9836 clear none 17:00 72 18 36 218 (SW) 11077 clear none 18:00 69 17 32 215 (SW) 8582 clear none 19:00 67 15 24 231 (SW) 5724 clear none 20:00 61 17 18 238 (WSW) 4547 clear none 21:00 60 17 25 228 (SW) 4204 clear none 22:00 59 17 25 237 (WSW) 3600 clear none 23:00 58 18 25 256 (WSW) 3312 clear none 00:00 56 18 23 242 (WSW) 2776 clear none 01:00 55 19 24 232 (SW) 2666 clear none 02:00 53 21 26 234 (SW) 2873 clear none 03:00 52 23 13 239 (WSW) 3139 clear none 04:00 50 24 23 255 (WSW) 2890 clear none 05:00 48 24 36 207 (SSW) 3074 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
