Despite low winds, we did have a slow rise of dust after midnight which made me suspicious of pine pollen; but the dust on the car windows seemed innocent enough so I stayed open. The first half of the night was mostly spent on pointing models with extra points to gather data for fine-tuning the fiducials. During second half I worked on the DIS slitviewer focus, then I got some throughput data when the clouds had cleared out. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:29 dis-slit 268( -9) -32 69 10.5 10.7 10.8 10.3 10.3 - 1.24 21:41 dis 243( -41) -39 68 10.3 10.5 10.7 10.2 10.3 g 1.76 21:42 dis 243( -41) -40 68 10.3 10.5 10.7 10.2 10.3 r 1.10 21:45 dis-slit 269( -17) -41 67 10.5 10.5 10.7 10.2 10.3 - 1.21 02:39 dis-slit 171( -151) 64 57 9.4 9.6 9.8 8.9 9.3 - 1.80 02:57 dis 196( -136) 59 60 9.4 9.4 9.6 8.7 9.2 r 1.40 02:58 dis 196( -136) 59 60 9.4 9.4 9.6 8.7 9.2 g 2.20 03:31 dis-slit 190( -157) 46 66 9.2 9.2 9.4 8.6 9.0 - 1.30 04:07 dis-slit 198( -160) 26 70 9.2 9.0 9.3 8.6 8.8 - 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 62 22 16 270 (W) 2018 ptly cldy none 17:00 58 22 17 261 (W) 2124 ptly cldy none 18:00 61 21 16 246 (WSW) 2724 ptly cldy none 19:00 55 18 16 249 (WSW) 2374 ptly cldy none 20:00 51 16 22 233 (SW) 2539 ptly cldy none 21:00 51 15 19 248 (WSW) 2366 ptly cldy none 22:00 51 16 16 260 (W) 2329 ptly cldy none 23:00 50 17 17 275 (W) 2281 ptly cldy none 00:00 51 16 22 286 (WNW) 2324 ptly cldy none 01:00 51 15 10 265 (W) 2703 ptly cldy none 02:00 50 15 14 287 (WNW) 4262 ptly cldy none 03:00 49 15 10 275 (W) 5490 ptly cldy none 04:00 49 17 12 267 (W) 3469 clear none 05:00 49 18 9 263 (W) 2384 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
