The echelle slitviewer ran with perfect reliability after some changes to the computer during the day. The triplespec slitviewer, on the other hand, had a problem which I failed to catch during checkout so it cost a little time on sky while I power cycled the controller. Aside from one weird image later on (t0353), the slitviewer worked well for the rest of the night. At UT 12:24 both altitude and azimuth stopped responding, messing up the last nod script of the night. They came back after an axis init but the time was already lost. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DD03 T I/H 20:15 20:25 tcam images all zero CU08 T T/S 06:24 06:28 az, alt not responding ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:50 ECHELLE 313( -864) 239 52 9.9 11.4 10.6 10.4 10.4 ND3 1.60 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 14 21 205 (SSW) 2047 clear none 17:00 59 15 25 231 (SW) 2216 clear none 18:00 55 13 19 233 (SW) 1835 clear none 19:00 54 9 20 245 (WSW) 1550 clear none 20:00 50 6 19 238 (WSW) 1251 clear none 21:00 51 6 14 264 (W) 1314 clear none 22:00 51 8 15 260 (W) 1279 clear none 23:00 50 7 11 227 (SW) 1304 clear none 00:00 50 8 14 208 (SSW) 1576 clear none 01:00 49 9 12 228 (SW) 1623 clear none 02:00 48 10 12 264 (W) 1579 clear none 03:00 47 8 23 295 (WNW) 1042 clear none 04:00 45 10 9 305 (NW) 792 mstly clr none 05:00 44 11 18 287 (WNW) 774 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
