Clouds moved in around 00:30 and the wind dropped below closure around 01:30, but the clouds didn't subside and kept us closed. We opened at 04:10 just to close about 40 mins later. Just enough time to focus and get two quick std stars before the thick clouds moved back in. We gave up at this point as it didn't look like things would improve in the next 20-30 mins and not have enought time to do anything useful after that. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time(UT) Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:24 dis-slit 126( -250) 274 83 7.2 8.6 7.9 7.9 7.6 -- 1.55 05:38 ECHELLE 364(-1114) 296 36 4.8 4.8 5.3 4.8 4.8 ND2 2.40 11:25 SPICAM -150( -581) 41 81 1.1 2.4 2.4 1.7 1.6 g' 1.85 11:27 NA2gdr -923(29076) 40 81 1.1 2.4 2.4 1.7 1.6 clear 1.60 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time(MDT) Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 50 22 27 226 (SW) 1354 clear none 17:00 47 20 25 220 (SW) 1299 mstly clr none 18:00 44 19 27 219 (SW) 2470 clear none 19:00 45 19 20 195 (SSW) 2142 mstly clr none 20:00 44 19 20 250 (WSW) 5493 mstly clr dust 21:00 42 19 26 247 (WSW) 2070 ptly cldy none 22:00 41 19 24 255 (WSW) 1305 ptly cldy none 23:00 40 18 31 223 (SW) 2092 ptly cldy none 00:00 38 20 33 231 (SW) 2919 mstly cldy none 01:00 37 22 30 209 (SSW) 1238 cloudy none 02:00 36 22 28 218 (SW) 1721 cloudy none 03:00 36 22 24 245 (WSW) 1493 cloudy none 04:00 34 23 22 219 (SW) 1204 mstly cldy none 05:00 33 23 17 233 (SW) 688 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
