Problem seems to have been resolved aorund 16:55. ecam was not responsive starting at 20:20, starting an exposure gave "3:34:07 client-682 5 fits w hubTxt="Overwriting header for ecam" ", and then apparently nothing happened. Followed the wiki, step 2.b cleared up the problem at 20:40. Clouds got too thick at 22:15 for observing, used a small hole to get on sky from 23:20 to 23:45, then clouds again. Second half observers had brighter targets and were able to start with a mostly cloudy sky. Over the rest of the night they accumulated about half an hour of observing time when it was too cloudy to continue. No problems closing the mirror covers, wasn't very cold. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:25 ECHELLE 921( -687) 228 71 -0.3 2.8 1.2 2.9 0.2 ND1 1.05 19:04 ECHELLE 669( -999) 236 65 -0.1 1.6 0.5 1.2 -0.2 ND1 1.07 01:23 ECHELLE 600(-1094) -9 55 1.6 1.1 1.2 1.2 2.4 Clear 2.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 35 25 6 106 (ESE) 948 clear none 17:00 34 24 6 94 (E) 973 clear none 18:00 32 23 8 111 (ESE) 1029 clear none 19:00 33 23 14 129 (SE) 935 clear none 20:00 33 22 15 149 (SSE) 835 clear none 21:00 31 22 9 146 (SE) 831 mstly cldy none 22:00 32 19 18 147 (SSE) 929 cloudy none 23:00 34 20 22 146 (SE) 1020 mstly cldy none 00:00 34 17 20 147 (SSE) 467 mstly cldy none 01:00 39 2 13 180 (S) 329 mstly cldy none 02:00 42 -7 12 124 (SE) 211 mstly cldy none 03:00 42 -6 10 185 (S) 160 mstly cldy none 04:00 43 0 11 182 (S) 219 mstly cldy none 05:00 42 1 8 187 (S) 289 mstly cldy none 06:00 41 4 2 126 (SE) 354 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
