Bad NICFPS image at 04:46 (Black/White bars), 'nicfps expose init' fixed problem. Echelle slit images dramatically dimmed for some reason, see echelle slit images 1461 - 1474 ( changed to an ND1 filter during 1473) and then again 1476-1478. No clouds were in the sky. May be related to PR# 1307, although different symptoms. This may be a cold weather related issue. The mirror covers again refused to close remotely at the end of the night tonight. This happened last night and I told Bill about it. Looks like it happened again. No power fluctuations tonight and they were working fine at the start of the night during checkout. Cycling the switch fixed the problem. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:39 NICFPS 259( -38) 213 42 -4.6 -2.5 -2.1 -3.3 -4.8 Ks 0.72 22:42 NA2gdr -2702(40297) 213 41 -4.6 -2.6 -2.2 -3.4 -4.8 R 0.98 00:11 NICFPS 302( -130) 200 62 -4.9 -4.6 -4.5 -5.1 -5.6 Ks 0.81 01:04 ECHELLE 514(-1485) 210 77 -3.8 -4.8 -4.5 -4.8 -4.6 ND3 0.94 01:36 ECHELLE 577(-1420) 226 73 -3.9 -4.8 -4.3 -4.8 -4.6 ND3 0.96 02:44 ECHELLE 520(-1477) 322 48 -5.3 -5.2 -4.7 -5.2 -5.5 ND2 1.10 04:30 ECHELLE 567(-1462) 171 73 -5.1 -5.4 -5.0 -5.5 -5.3 ND2 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 29 23 4 196 (SSW) 164 cloudy lt snow 17:00 25 22 3 255 (WSW) 253 cloudy humid 18:00 24 21 1 133 (SE) 251 ptly cldy humid 19:00 22 20 8 90 (E) 572 clear humid 20:00 21 19 9 84 (E) 883 clear humid 21:00 22 18 3 92 (E) 826 clear none 22:00 23 17 6 108 (ESE) 406 clear none 23:00 22 16 10 150 (SSE) 427 clear none 00:00 25 16 8 159 (SSE) 302 clear none 01:00 24 16 10 173 (S) 330 clear none 02:00 23 17 10 127 (SE) 380 clear none 03:00 25 17 9 124 (SE) 391 clear none 04:00 24 12 12 127 (SE) 299 clear none 05:00 25 15 17 139 (SE) 358 clear none 06:00 26 11 20 143 (SE) 361 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
