I judged that we focused perhaps 15 minutes later than we would have if the weather were good at the very beginning of the night, so I only counted a little time lost to weather. After that, skies were clear but seeing was quite variable, from 1 to 3 arcseconds at various times. As the telescope cooled I tracked focus on field stars without stopping to do focus runs. The telescope had a little trouble tracking through a high-altitude transit (with windshake), but it never became a serious problem. Everything else worked well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:16 dis-slit 255( -248) 81 74 -0.2 3.8 5.6 3.7 2.0 - 1.04 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 31 31 6 359 (N) 362 mstly cldy fog 17:00 32 29 11 303 (WNW) 28955 mstly cldy fog 18:00 31 31 12 351 (N) 60327 ptly cldy fog 19:00 30 25 9 355 (N) 190 clear none 20:00 32 22 11 27 (NNE) 212 clear none 21:00 38 21 10 20 (NNE) 149 clear none 22:00 37 22 12 16 (NNE) 130 clear none 23:00 36 25 16 11 (N) 114 clear none 00:00 36 26 18 16 (NNE) 97 clear none 01:00 37 26 7 359 (N) 119 clear none 02:00 36 27 6 19 (NNE) 109 clear none 03:00 37 27 8 8 (N) 161 clear none 04:00 37 27 2 342 (NNW) 146 clear none 05:00 36 26 0 77 (ENE) 157 clear none 06:00 36 26 5 17 (NNE) 175 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
