Off by -12.480 deg! Something happened to it this afternoon because this morning it was only off slightly from the tape mark we use to do a rough check (I re-applied the tape on the rotator since it was coming off, as well). I noticed some slight tracking problems last night with TSPEC which led me to check the rotator zero this afternoon. It appears the taking NICFPS data (Bill was doing engineering tests and taking a lot of 2.8s exposures) causes problems with the echelle slitviewer being able to be read. When I halted Bill's exposures TUI ran a lot faster, and I was able to then successfully take a echelle slit image. The load level on Tron also dropped from 2 to 0.2 LN2 leaking from Echelle vent tube during checkout. I notified Bill and submitted a PR. Emergency replacement of line, ater we dumped 1/4 tank of LN2 in about 2 hrs, during twilight/star of night delayed us TSPEC vacuum well behaved all night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW02 E I/H 18:29 20:00 LN2 leak in Echelle vent tube, needed to be replaced. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:57 dis-slit 233( 58) 79 76 8.4 10.3 9.5 9.7 8.3 -- 1.30 23:35 dis-slit 365( 60) -25 49 8.0 7.4 7.8 7.5 7.7 -- 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 24 8 284 (WNW) 1661 clear none 17:00 55 23 7 250 (WSW) 1638 clear none 18:00 50 20 5 259 (W) 1512 clear none 19:00 47 17 10 255 (WSW) 995 clear none 20:00 47 17 7 248 (WSW) 1009 clear none 21:00 47 17 9 220 (SW) 773 clear none 22:00 46 20 9 217 (SW) 1231 clear none 23:00 46 20 6 191 (S) 1446 clear none 00:00 50 18 9 266 (W) 917 clear none 01:00 49 18 13 282 (WNW) 984 clear none 02:00 49 18 16 291 (WNW) 1185 clear none 03:00 49 18 17 314 (NW) 1255 clear none 04:00 49 20 16 302 (WNW) 1329 clear none 05:00 49 20 13 326 (NW) 1478 clear none 06:00 49 22 26 304 (NW) 1516 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
