I rans some Agile dark tests with our new Block filter installed in the wheel. Data can be found in /export/images/Q1APO/UT110107/agile/Darks & Biases (if needed) Looks like eyelid closed and block filter in place is as good as dark slide in place (both will full dome illumination with Br. Qrtz and Halide lamps on). I would NOT recommend just the block filter alone, with lights on in the dome. The combination of eyelid and block worked very well though. I took both 60s and 300s darks We opened at 00:10, but my observer reported that she couldn't see her object in 900s exposure with the cloudcover. I closed around 02:20 as there were radar returns nearby. No problems tonight. SPIcam heater turned back on low. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:17 SPICAM 171( -212) 132 50 3.5 3.1 3.6 2.7 2.9 R 1.10 00:19 NA2gdr -301(29698) 132 50 3.5 3.1 3.6 2.6 3.0 clear 1.50 03:45 SPICAM -7( -461) 184 72 2.3 2.0 2.3 1.9 2.1 R 1.20 03:46 NA2gdr -897(29102) 185 72 2.3 2.0 2.3 1.9 2.0 R 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 5 8 37 (NE) 89 cloudy none 17:00 37 12 19 358 (N) 90 cloudy none 18:00 38 9 8 346 (NNW) 76 cloudy none 19:00 40 13 7 4 (N) 80 cloudy none 20:00 39 12 12 8 (N) 90 cloudy none 21:00 39 13 13 28 (NNE) 54 cloudy none 22:00 39 12 15 353 (N) 83 cloudy none 23:00 39 13 7 12 (NNE) 95 mstly cldy none 00:00 37 13 9 330 (NNW) 70 ptly cldy none 01:00 37 8 8 351 (N) 109 ptly cldy none 02:00 36 4 22 345 (NNW) 204 cloudy none 03:00 36 4 11 337 (NNW) 238 ptly cldy none 04:00 35 4 9 355 (N) 160 ptly cldy none 05:00 35 2 10 306 (NW) 196 ptly cldy none 06:00 36 5 6 4 (N) 401 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
