As usual, Triplespec required a little extra attention to guiding, but nothing extreme. The rotator had a motion error at UT 09:06 when trying to move from approximately -90 to -180. I woke it up and tried again, with the same result, but the observer was willing to observe at a more convenient position so I didn't pursue further diagnosis. The error code was 6801, not an overcurrent. No other problems with the rotator during the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PU03 T T/H 02:06 02:12 Rot motion error ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:11 ECHELLE 77(-1576) -159 61 2.2 1.9 2.1 1.4 1.8 Clear 0.75 23:16 TSPEC 100( -627) -122 59 -3.8 -4.8 -4.2 -5.0 -4.5 Ks 0.88 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 28 17 3 303 (WNW) 644 clear none 17:00 28 17 6 302 (WNW) 849 clear none 18:00 25 14 6 283 (WNW) 469 clear none 19:00 25 12 13 331 (NNW) 300 clear none 20:00 24 9 14 336 (NNW) 348 clear none 21:00 24 11 11 343 (NNW) 270 clear none 22:00 24 9 10 355 (N) 265 clear none 23:00 24 9 8 359 (N) 251 clear none 00:00 24 9 15 354 (N) 301 clear none 01:00 24 11 6 0 (N) 270 clear none 02:00 24 11 11 347 (NNW) 257 clear none 03:00 23 11 9 42 (NE) 268 clear none 04:00 25 2 1 208 (SSW) 219 mstly clr none 05:00 22 9 12 315 (NW) 267 clear none 06:00 22 10 7 307 (NW) 224 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
