NA2 guider did NOT fail during pointing model. Shack Hartman computer would not respond to mouse movements thru VNC, so I needed to physically reboot it. May have been an issue from todays UPS fix. I took (Before) out of focus dougnuts with both SPIcam and Agile (agile needed a major reboot probably due to the UPS work earlier today). Adjusted collimation, I double checked collimation. I corrected pointing on SH, as it was a bit off. Rechecked out of focus stars for SPIcam and Agile Corrected pointing model after collimation adjustment Checked/corrected pointing at NA1 Fastcam data WRT000Alt060 UT2011-01-19 09:09 WRT045ALT060 UT2011-01-19 09:28 WRT090ALT060 UT2011-01-19 09:46 WRT180ALT060 UT2011-01-19-10:09 I spent the remainder of the night trying to see if I could reproduce an NA2 guider problem. I ran the NA2 guider for about 2 hrs and it never hung tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:00 GUIDER -56( -289) 59 53 3.4 6.1 4.3 4.7 4.4 R 1.30 20:14 SPICAM 17( -348) -4 57 3.2 3.6 3.6 2.7 3.2 r' 0.85 21:29 SHACK -125( -132) 78 64 2.3 2.9 2.7 2.1 2.3 -- 1.00 00:33 SPICAM 28( -360) 127 60 3.9 3.2 3.6 3.0 3.3 r' 0.94 01:13 ECHELLE 109(-1475) -10 60 3.9 3.3 3.8 3.1 3.5 ND3 0.78 01:52 FASTCAM 109( 189) -22 52 3.6 3.4 3.7 3.2 3.5 -- 0.86 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 41 18 7 284 (WNW) 415 clear none 17:00 38 19 2 308 (NW) 396 clear none 18:00 38 16 7 327 (NNW) 363 clear none 19:00 40 3 1 302 (WNW) 264 clear none 20:00 39 10 8 296 (WNW) 303 clear none 21:00 38 15 2 260 (W) 324 clear none 22:00 40 4 11 251 (WSW) 232 clear none 23:00 39 14 11 211 (SSW) 548 clear none 00:00 39 13 13 242 (WSW) 477 clear none 01:00 39 17 18 251 (WSW) 483 clear none 02:00 38 18 18 232 (SW) 563 clear none 03:00 37 20 17 212 (SSW) 576 clear none 04:00 36 21 19 233 (SW) 591 clear none 05:00 36 21 16 218 (SW) 739 clear none 06:00 37 22 15 237 (WSW) 714 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
