By the start of second half it was safe but not likely productive to open, so we waited a bit longer for the clouds to thin out. From there the night was mostly clear, but of course even small patches of clouds could pose a problem for working in the IR. Seeing was poor for Tspec but reasonably stable. Guiding worked well except when clouds interfered. ------------- FAILURE LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:13 TSPEC 85( 767) -23 38 15.6 15.3 15.9 14.8 15.2 Ks 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 63 52 8 85 (E) 684 cloudy none 17:00 59 52 16 136 (SE) 576 cloudy none 18:00 57 51 17 109 (ESE) 447 cloudy rain 19:00 58 47 14 117 (ESE) 444 cloudy lt rain 20:00 58 52 13 84 (E) 835 cloudy lt rain 21:00 57 53 23 110 (ESE) 738 cloudy lt rain 22:00 58 48 21 121 (ESE) 240 cloudy none 23:00 60 49 17 119 (ESE) 632 mstly cldy none 00:00 59 53 15 94 (E) 1257 mstly cldy none 01:00 59 53 17 85 (E) 1178 ptly cldy none 02:00 59 52 13 89 (E) 1184 mstly clr none 03:00 61 45 12 84 (E) 724 ptly cldy none 04:00 60 47 11 95 (E) 737 ptly cldy none 05:00 60 48 8 44 (NE) 890 ptly cldy none 06:00 58 50 11 104 (ESE) 1028 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
