We lost a little time when the echelle slitviewer crashed and neither I nor the remote observer noticed promptly, so a half-hour exposure turned out to be unusable. A second crash was caught more quickly and resolved with no loss of observing time. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU03 E I/S 2:20 2:55 Slitty crash on long exp ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:08 APOLLO 200( 1638) 17 33 18.2 20.3 19.5 19.0 19.0 1.80 21:29 dis-slit 79( 593) -69 43 16.8 18.1 17.6 16.8 17.1 - 1.80 01:16 ECHELLE 21( -288) 152 80 19.2 16.2 17.3 15.9 17.2 ND1 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 79 54 15 208 (SSW) 487 ptly cldy none 17:00 74 43 1 217 (SW) 254 ptly cldy none 18:00 73 43 9 82 (E) 160 ptly cldy none 19:00 70 43 10 84 (E) 660 mstly clr none 20:00 66 48 13 89 (E) 684 mstly clr none 21:00 63 48 13 114 (ESE) 391 mstly clr none 22:00 61 50 9 87 (E) 192 mstly clr none 23:00 60 51 12 76 (ENE) 604 clear none 00:00 60 50 10 83 (E) 521 clear none 01:00 66 45 1 226 (SW) 90 mstly clr none 02:00 66 45 8 222 (SW) 256 clear none 03:00 65 48 7 185 (S) 2445 clear none 04:00 62 49 8 183 (S) 2354 mstly clr none 05:00 60 51 7 158 (SSE) 2788 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
