During second half the clouds thinned out and humidity dropped, so I felt it was safe to open. Occasional patches of cloudiness and poor seeing made the data-taking a challenge, but overall the time was useful. I heard one case of the medium-pitch ringing noise at 08:35 when I activated the motors after opening the dome; the effect was not apparent on the motor telemetry or PMSS dataq, and the noise stopped on the first slew. I did not encounter any examples of the much nastier low-frequency noise, but we weren't observing in the northwest where the problem was previously seen. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:56 dis-slit -75( -145) -6 55 5.2 6.5 6.9 5.5 5.7 - 1.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 53 31 2 250 (WSW) 905 cloudy none 17:00 47 31 9 266 (W) 829 cloudy none 18:00 46 31 5 289 (WNW) 1045 cloudy none 19:00 45 31 8 214 (SW) 921 cloudy none 20:00 38 31 4 263 (W) 1402 cloudy rain 21:00 40 31 7 119 (ESE) 1501 cloudy lt rain 22:00 44 30 2 276 (W) 2496 cloudy lt rain 23:00 42 31 9 275 (W) 2184 mstly cldy none 00:00 44 31 8 28 (NNE) 2678 mstly cldy none 01:00 45 30 8 345 (NNW) 2370 mstly cldy none 02:00 44 29 4 283 (WNW) 2406 ptly cldy none 03:00 41 31 3 216 (SW) 1486 ptly cldy none 04:00 42 31 8 330 (NNW) 2257 ptly cldy none 05:00 41 31 4 279 (W) 2056 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
