First part of the night was beautiful with excellent seeing. A storm cell started to form to our S around 22:00 and slowly moved northward with APO being just on it's western edge. Lots of radar returns and lightning but no precip at the site, just clouds which kept up close all of the 2nd half. My observer gave up around 04:30 as we still had radar echos around us and clouds overhead. ------------- FAILURE LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:01 NICFPS 154( 888) 33 53 9.4 10.7 10.0 9.3 9.8 J 0.75 20:12 NA2gdr -2131(40868) 70 74 8.9 10.4 9.8 9.1 9.5 clear 1.00 20:55 NICFPS 37( 704) 41 81 8.8 9.6 9.4 8.5 8.9 Ks 0.70 20:55 NA2gdr -3077(39922) 41 81 8.9 9.6 9.4 8.5 8.9 clear 0.85 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 58 22 27 217 (SW) 1165 clear none 17:00 56 21 20 213 (SSW) 1269 clear none 18:00 55 24 22 205 (SSW) 1351 clear none 19:00 52 20 16 210 (SSW) 1132 clear none 20:00 49 18 12 219 (SW) 1131 clear none 21:00 48 18 10 213 (SSW) 1213 clear none 22:00 49 15 11 225 (SW) 1231 clear none 23:00 48 15 6 243 (WSW) 1162 clear none 00:00 47 24 8 187 (S) 954 mstly cldy none 01:00 45 42 15 125 (SE) 912 cloudy humid 02:00 44 41 15 143 (SE) 647 cloudy humid 03:00 44 39 15 145 (SE) 640 cloudy humid 04:00 44 34 10 157 (SSE) 576 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
