We observed for about 3 hours, with poor seeing, and then started getting radar returns so closed up. About 15 mins later we had light rain again, humidity and the wind started picking up. The remainder of the night was high/borderline humidity and wind conditions, never quite good enough for long enough to re-open. My observer gave up around 04:30. ------------- FAILURE LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:21 dis-slit -225( -199) 1 54 7.5 8.5 8.4 7.5 7.6 -- 2.50 21:25 NA2gdr -1502(20497) 0 55 7.0 8.4 8.4 7.4 7.7 R+ND2 1.70 22:02 dis-slit 149( 124) 84 60 7.1 7.5 7.8 7.0 7.2 -- 2.40 22:03 NA2gdr -149(21850) 84 60 7.1 7.5 7.7 7.0 7.2 clear 2.20 23:29 dis-slit 142( 49) -65 75 6.4 6.3 6.6 6.1 6.2 -- 3.00 23:31 NA2gdr -149(21850) -66 75 6.1 6.3 6.6 6.0 6.1 clear 2.60 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:00 49 31 17 117 (ESE) 768 cloudy rain 18:00 45 35 20 128 (SE) 592 cloudy rain 19:00 43 36 17 91 (E) 601 mstly cldy humid 20:00 44 34 15 113 (ESE) 651 mstly cldy humid 21:00 44 34 17 123 (ESE) 406 ptly cldy none 22:00 45 33 19 123 (ESE) 386 ptly cldy none 23:00 43 36 18 123 (ESE) 265 ptly cldy none 00:00 42 36 18 121 (ESE) 268 mstly cldy lt rain 01:00 42 37 24 145 (SE) 323 ptly cldy none 02:00 43 37 22 180 (S) 383 ptly cldy humid 03:00 43 37 26 175 (S) 609 ptly cldy humid 04:00 41 38 21 187 (S) 507 ptly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
