Collimation spot-checks with echelle and APOLLO appeared good. Everything worked well. A miscommunication with spotters regarding the APOLLO change from the scheduled time led to a delay. I focus NICFPS during APOLLO time while waiting for spotters, and the following observer kindly allowed me to run ten minutes over time, which was about how long I had spent on the NICFPS focus anyway. Thanks to this consideration, APOLLO was able to observe three reflectors in a near-full phase. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:19 ECHELLE 275( -699) -66 56 1.4 2.4 2.0 1.1 1.7 ND2 1.07 01:25 APOLLO 50( 557) -26 50 2.2 1.9 2.1 1.2 1.9 530 1.40 01:48 NICFPS 111( 391) 15 72 2.0 1.7 1.9 0.9 1.5 J 0.75 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 39 18 4 282 (WNW) 907 clear none 17:00 40 16 10 300 (WNW) 822 clear none 18:00 41 15 9 290 (WNW) 1019 clear none 19:00 35 12 9 357 (N) 1210 clear none 20:00 35 12 8 355 (N) 1130 clear none 21:00 35 12 11 342 (NNW) 1026 clear none 22:00 35 11 7 360 (N) 1162 clear none 23:00 38 6 6 71 (ENE) 1081 clear none 00:00 36 7 8 11 (N) 1339 clear none 01:00 37 5 2 329 (NNW) 1396 clear none 02:00 35 9 9 358 (N) 1212 clear none 03:00 37 8 5 12 (NNE) 1335 clear none 04:00 37 5 21 17 (NNE) 1493 clear none 05:00 37 5 13 44 (NE) 1718 clear none 06:00 39 3 18 3 (N) 1809 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
