When the precipitation failed to arrive and the wind dropped, the clouds persisted. I was able to get some observations with the echelle on a very bright target, but the clouds were more trouble in the infrared so the second half observer struggled, and some of the time while we were open no useful photons were collected. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:35 ECHELLE 283(-1193) 157 55 3.7 5.4 4.5 4.5 4.1 ND3 1.40 00:03 TSPEC 125( -247) 210 77 2.5 2.7 2.9 2.5 2.5 Ks 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 42 19 27 271 (W) 2183 cloudy none 17:00 40 19 24 269 (W) 984 ptly cldy none 18:00 38 20 30 285 (WNW) 1064 ptly cldy none 19:00 39 19 23 274 (W) 1121 mstly cldy none 20:00 39 19 25 294 (WNW) 2881 mstly cldy none 21:00 38 20 24 291 (WNW) 1402 mstly cldy none 22:00 38 20 29 287 (WNW) 758 mstly cldy none 23:00 37 21 23 287 (WNW) 306 mstly cldy none 00:00 37 21 19 293 (WNW) 329 mstly cldy none 01:00 36 22 16 294 (WNW) 332 mstly cldy none 02:00 35 22 22 293 (WNW) 325 mstly cldy none 03:00 34 24 17 283 (WNW) 408 mstly cldy none 04:00 33 24 12 274 (W) 360 mstly cldy none 05:00 34 22 12 267 (W) 421 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
