So I started with in-dome tests of the SPIcam shutter behavior, which now appears to be working correctly. I went on sky with thinner clouds, but the focus or seeing did not seem stable enough to do the DIS spectrograph focus test. So I checked and corrected pointing with the echelle and did some spectra as well to test stability since we've been seeing some irregularity in the echelle biases. I returned to DIS, and now seeing appeared more stable although still not very good. I started the DIS focus test, and thick orographic clouds moved in an stuck around for many hours. I was not able to do the APOLLO APD alignment on the moon, nor did I get any fastcam data. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:47 dis-slit 215( -483) 55 54 2.1 1.9 2.2 1.6 1.9 1.50 23:36 ECHELLE 166(-1510) 132 71 1.7 1.5 1.7 1.1 1.4 ND3 1.40 Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 38 5 21 208 (SSW) 363 ptly cldy none 17:00 36 2 22 210 (SSW) 469 ptly cldy none 18:00 35 3 21 219 (SW) 588 ptly cldy none 19:00 36 6 21 222 (SW) 838 ptly cldy none 20:00 36 8 28 211 (SSW) 1069 ptly cldy none 21:00 35 8 25 212 (SSW) 898 ptly cldy none 22:00 36 8 20 217 (SW) 821 mstly clr none 23:00 35 8 21 208 (SSW) 654 mstly clr none 00:00 36 5 24 216 (SW) 551 ptly cldy none 01:00 36 2 20 233 (SW) 374 cloudy none 02:00 35 3 20 245 (WSW) 383 cloudy none 03:00 35 4 26 253 (WSW) 333 cloudy none 04:00 34 3 28 238 (WSW) 313 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
