There was some blowing snow a few hours after sunset along the ground that shut down Sloan, but it did not reach the height of the 3.5m dome, and along with mirror temps below freezing, we were able to stay open. Some thin clouds rolled in around 0400 and lasted till sunrise, but did not hinder science. Only problem tonight was a very minor hangup of triplespec, see PR #1087, but it did not result in a loss of science time. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:44 TSPEC 647( 580) 167 61 0.5 0.6 -0.2 0.5 0.7 1.20 18:46 TSPEC 297( 167) 184 62 -1.3 -0.7 -0.8 -1.1 -1.0 1.10 21:48 TSPEC 147( 79) 213 48 1.3 0.3 0.8 0.2 0.8 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 32 3 13 357 (N) 69 clear none 17:00 35 13 14 341 (NNW) 139 clear none 18:00 32 7 10 16 (NNE) 98 clear none 19:00 30 5 18 12 (NNE) 115 clear none 20:00 31 8 18 12 (NNE) 121 clear none 21:00 32 11 18 29 (NNE) 72 clear none 22:00 35 18 10 20 (NNE) 42 clear none 23:00 33 18 12 21 (NNE) 19 clear none 00:00 34 20 15 344 (NNW) 28 clear none 01:00 33 20 9 332 (NNW) 42 clear none 02:00 34 19 8 354 (N) 47 clear none 03:00 34 19 15 322 (NW) 46 clear none 04:00 35 18 10 273 (W) 76 ptly cldy none 05:00 35 19 6 262 (W) 56 ptly cldy none 06:00 34 20 9 239 (WSW) 45 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
