I found Agile non-responsive and needing a good reboot. We had clouds so it wasn't too big of a deal, but until we get the replacement Nimble HD we should be checking Agile out at least 2hrs ahead of use time, just in case of problems. Took alt 60 dat fastcam for Bill. I also processed the wrt000alt60 and wrt045alt60 data sequences for Bill. Next I tried to observe SN2009ig with DIS. This took much longer than it should have due to clouds forming in the direction of the SN. The first couple test images looked double peaked (out of focus, not suprising as focus sweep showed variable seeing). I refocused and got a nice sharp(er) image and then the clouds really formed on top of us. I guess the cloud gods got the best of us on this object tonight! I gave up at 05:20 due to thick clouds. ------------- FAILURE LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:30 FASTCAM 100( 964) 36 66 10.9 11.4 11.6 10.9 11.1 -- 0.91 03:16 dis-slit 22( 152) 33 51 10.5 10.5 10.8 9.9 10.5 -- 1.25 03:35 dis-slit 125( 255) 26 53 10.5 10.6 10.9 10.1 10.7 -- 1.32 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 55 49 10 77 (ENE) 1243 ptly cldy lt rain 17:00 55 47 9 83 (E) 973 ptly cldy none 18:00 57 43 5 109 (ESE) 855 ptly cldy none 19:00 56 43 1 163 (SSE) 855 ptly cldy none 20:00 55 43 2 204 (SSW) 967 ptly cldy none 21:00 54 43 1 190 (S) 1021 mstly clr none 22:00 53 43 2 132 (SE) 1056 mstly clr none 23:00 53 43 8 147 (SSE) 1030 ptly cldy none 00:00 53 45 15 132 (SE) 1342 ptly cldy none 01:00 51 46 8 121 (ESE) 1461 clear none 02:00 52 46 7 134 (SE) 1527 ptly cldy none 03:00 51 46 4 179 (S) 1449 mstly cldy none 04:00 52 45 6 183 (S) 1302 cloudy none 05:00 52 45 4 188 (S) 1289 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
