Once I opened of course clouds moved back in for about an hour. I pointed the telescope into the wind (20MPH gusts) and let it sit there for a few mins. Alt axis give, which is good. During this test I ran into some servo and motor control buffer errors which took a while to debug and clear. I then repeated some of the tracking tests from last night (tonight we had a nice breeze out of the east as well to watch for shake). east east_long (Az up, Alt right) north north_long (Az Right, Alt Down) west west_long (Az down, Alt left ) south_long(az left, alt up) I did not do south (90 exp) since I did those last night. I had a little time at the end of the night so I just did south_long for Russet (as those only took 15mins) Checked and fixed pointing on the echelle. It was off a bit for some reason. ------------- FAILURE LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 23:51 SPICAM 150( 543) 101 60 10.5 10.9 11.1 10.4 10.6 V 0.93 01:54 SPICAM 53( 404) 172 59 10.5 10.1 10.5 9.4 10.1 V 0.64 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:00 59 36 6 76 (ENE) 1083 ptly cldy none 18:00 58 36 12 66 (ENE) 1104 ptly cldy none 19:00 56 37 11 69 (ENE) 1175 ptly cldy none 20:00 54 40 15 80 (E) 1106 mstly cldy none 21:00 52 41 17 80 (E) 1213 ptly cldy none 22:00 52 41 18 77 (ENE) 1281 mstly cldy none 23:00 52 42 12 78 (ENE) 1431 ptly cldy none 00:00 51 42 9 79 (E) 1429 mstly clr none 01:00 50 42 5 16 (NNE) 1416 mstly clr none 02:00 51 40 10 72 (ENE) 1366 mstly clr none 03:00 52 37 12 80 (E) 1144 mstly clr none 04:00 52 34 11 75 (ENE) 1096 mstly clr none 05:00 51 34 8 131 (SE) 1038 mstly clr none 06:00 51 37 6 136 (SE) 1107 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
