We were facing into the wind with gusts around 30MPH 01:51:40-01:51:50 Alt drive released again, 30 MPH gusts and pointed directly into wind. Telescope was at about 70 deg alt. and tracking, I was still trying to focus. I had the observer move to another target not facing the wind. Clouds moved in around 21:00 and closed us. They stuck around until around 03:30. We re-opened at 03:50. ------------- FAILURE LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW12 T T/H 19:27 20:10 Alt drive o/c in 30mph wind ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:51 TSPEC 254( 921) 275 65 15.2 15.6 15.5 15.1 15.2 Ks 1.10 20:15 TSPEC 198( 859) 27 51 14.8 15.2 15.2 14.7 14.8 Ks 1.10 03:58 TSPEC -8( 480) 189 62 10.7 11.9 12.2 11.2 11.0 Ks 1.32 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:00 64 33 28 259 (W) 1698 mstly clr none 18:00 63 34 31 258 (WSW) 1750 mstly clr none 19:00 59 35 21 262 (W) 1908 ptly cldy none 20:00 59 36 30 267 (W) 1635 ptly cldy none 21:00 58 37 24 270 (W) 1483 cloudy none 22:00 56 41 18 261 (W) 4204 cloudy none 23:00 56 40 19 267 (W) 2351 cloudy none 00:00 55 41 25 274 (W) 1508 cloudy none 01:00 54 41 16 281 (W) 1215 cloudy none 02:00 53 42 14 272 (W) 1207 cloudy none 03:00 53 41 16 272 (W) 1242 mstly cldy none 04:00 51 41 15 277 (W) 1611 mstly clr none 05:00 50 41 15 285 (WNW) 2032 mstly clr none 06:00 49 41 23 284 (WNW) 2648 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
