Clear skies until 02:30. I closed at 03:00 because of clouds even though there was no threat of precip. I reopened again at 05:30. Cloud cover was mostly variable even after 05:30. Seeing was moderate to poor all night. My observer finished 15 minutes into twilight so I used the last 30 minutes of twilight to switch to the Echelle and get some useful data on Epsilon Aurigae for NM07. The building and telescope experienced another collision this morning as I was closing up. I cleared the collision but the telescope is a degree and a half away from its park position. No other problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:42 dis-slit 357( 273) 120 72 4.5 6.5 5.6 5.2 5.1 --- 1.62 06:19 ECHELLE -59(-1016) 204 78 2.9 3.0 3.1 2.5 2.9 ND1 2.27 Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 49 26 8 195 (SSW) 439 clear none 17:00 54 26 5 262 (W) 429 clear none 18:00 48 27 10 231 (SW) 475 clear none 19:00 42 28 6 88 (E) 458 clear none 20:00 40 28 15 80 (E) 541 clear none 21:00 38 27 13 90 (E) 526 clear none 22:00 37 27 10 90 (E) 632 clear none 23:00 41 31 16 142 (SE) 675 clear none 00:00 39 28 9 103 (ESE) 592 clear none 01:00 38 28 6 100 (E) 549 clear none 02:00 40 31 9 180 (S) 739 ptly cldy none 03:00 40 31 7 106 (ESE) 650 cloudy none 04:00 39 30 3 135 (SE) 602 cloudy none 05:00 39 30 6 109 (ESE) 661 mstly cldy none 06:00 37 28 7 100 (E) 594 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
