Coughlin, J. Huehnerhoff A clear night with clouds early in the night on the horizon. Spicam not responsive upon instrument checkout (UT 00:20). Not corrected by restarting the ICC, or Hub. A hard restart on Spicam corrected the problem. Spicam functioned properly the rest of the scheduled time (first half). Rotating the instrument to 0 when changing filters prevented any problem in filter wheel error. NICFPS used on second half with observers on site. Clouds encroaching from the south around 04:30 MST. NICFPS removed and GFP installed at UT 11:10. GFP CCD running warm (-90K) according to GFP group. GFP was able to image a star but the instrument was still having trouble with electronics. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:06 SPICAM 95( 799) 246 65 15.4 17.4 16.1 15.9 16.4 R 0.60 01:16 NICFPS -25( 876) 189 47 14.2 13.9 14.2 12.8 13.6 Ks 0.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 65 38 10 246 (WSW) 407 clear none 17:00 66 38 10 258 (WSW) 391 clear none 18:00 63 38 6 264 (W) 477 clear none 19:00 60 38 5 262 (W) 497 clear none 20:00 60 35 2 256 (WSW) 472 clear none 21:00 60 37 3 215 (SW) 450 clear none 22:00 59 37 11 235 (SW) 575 clear none 23:00 58 36 5 255 (WSW) 610 clear none 00:00 57 37 6 267 (W) 648 clear none 01:00 57 38 5 266 (W) 750 clear none 02:00 57 38 6 264 (W) 738 clear none 03:00 57 38 8 269 (W) 899 clear none 04:00 53 38 6 263 (W) 888 clear none 05:00 54 38 2 196 (SSW) 841 mstly clr none 06:00 54 39 6 120 (ESE) 805 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
