Then skies mostly cleared. Problems with SPIcam: First symptom, spicam filter wheel would not change filters (after it had been working fine for cals). I tried homing it, reconfig, and then went up into the dome took it out, put it back in; home, and init. Worked again for a little bit. Then Expose would not work. Restarted nubs, init, restarted icc. Then icc would not connect. Fritz advised the spicam electronics needed to be reset on the instrument. This needed to be done multiple times. The spicam camera would come up, and then it would try to init the filter wheel. The filter wheel would time out, and then communications are lost again, only brought back by a reset. Then when we would return to science it would all happen again. The rotator was at -128. We tried 180 degrees from there since it seemed to be happy at 0. This position seemed to work better. SO then we decided to try to avoid that rotator area around -128. Various error messages were streaming out. These I reported in the PR, which was an addition to PR #808. Apollo was still having hardware problems and therefore gave their time to PU01. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:22 SPICAM 150( 772) 230 71 13.9 15.8 14.7 14.7 14.8 V 0.85 01:18 dis-slit 75( 324) 50 63 13.1 13.2 13.3 12.4 12.9 1.12 04:40 dis-slit 125( 335) -41 65 11.2 12.4 12.6 11.8 12.2 1.43 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 58 45 8 322 (NW) 727 ptly cldy none 17:00 62 43 12 259 (W) 714 cloudy none 18:00 58 44 4 264 (W) 708 cloudy none 19:00 57 43 4 265 (W) 763 cloudy none 20:00 57 43 6 260 (W) 690 ptly cldy none 21:00 57 43 6 238 (WSW) 829 ptly cldy none 22:00 57 44 6 241 (WSW) 759 mstly clr none 23:00 57 41 9 299 (WNW) 667 mstly clr none 00:00 54 43 7 237 (WSW) 675 mstly clr none 01:00 56 42 8 223 (SW) 673 mstly clr none 02:00 55 44 7 210 (SSW) 662 clear none 03:00 56 43 6 260 (W) 655 clear none 04:00 56 41 9 283 (WNW) 545 clear none 05:00 53 42 6 350 (N) 634 clear none 06:00 53 43 11 325 (NW) 697 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
