Partly to mostly clear skies with radar returns headed towards the site at the beginning of the night. Then rain and overcast skies but clear skies for the majority of Otero County. There was several times it looked like I could open but later was glad I did not attempt to. While I waited for the skies to clear I ran an in dome pointing model and then several in dome tracking tests at various places around the skies to give Fritz lots of metrology at various tracking speeds and directions to look at. The tracking oscillations that I saw last night were not visible tonight. At 0300 the skies were clear enough to open. I ran a pointing model on the sky for the last 2 hours of the night. The error in the model was higher than I would like so I did not implement it. I installed the pinhole in agile but did not get any of the scattered light measurements. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03:21 GUIDER 434( 1121) 217 80 17.4 17.1 17.3 16.7 16.9 R+nd2 1.04 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 66 49 19 131 (SE) 1302 mstly cldy lt rain 17:00 72 48 6 196 (SSW) 1235 ptly cldy none 18:00 71 47 10 211 (SSW) 989 cloudy none 19:00 68 48 6 183 (S) 1089 cloudy none 20:00 67 47 17 146 (SE) 1079 mstly cldy none 21:00 66 46 16 146 (SE) 1033 ptly cldy none 22:00 66 42 17 159 (SSE) 1010 mstly cldy rain 23:00 61 42 23 129 (SE) 991 cloudy rain 00:00 64 36 14 173 (S) 1268 cloudy lt rain 01:00 65 34 16 176 (S) 1276 cloudy none 02:00 65 35 24 164 (SSE) 1397 ptly cldy none 03:00 63 36 21 198 (SSW) 1489 clear none 04:00 62 35 17 180 (S) 1784 clear none 05:00 63 35 12 183 (S) 1923 mstly clr none 06:00 62 38 20 176 (S) 2551 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
