Coughlin Had heavy clouds and a good amount of rain from sunset till around 22:30 when it began to clear. I opened up at 23:00 to partly cloudy, but non-threatening skies. Switched to Apollo on-time, but they gave up early due to cloudy conditions and spotter no-show, (so I counted it as lost to weather.) I was able to stay open and we got some data on bright objects through holes in the clouds until 02:20 when I closed again due to totally opaque skies. Observer took cals. I re-opened at 03:00 when some holes starting coming through again and we got useful data. Had to close at 04:40 just before 12 degree twilight due to increasing humidity. I was plannning on doing more Agile scattered light tests 2nd half from the forecast, but since we were able to be open I didn't get to it. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------- 00:48 dis-slit 171( 544) -14 40 14.7 15.1 15.2 14.6 14.8 1.40 03:17 dis-slit 21( 287) -163 80 12.9 13.7 13.6 13.1 12.8 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 64 54 9 227 (SW) 670 cloudy none 17:00 62 56 9 234 (SW) 760 cloudy none 18:00 60 51 7 122 (ESE) 855 mstly cldy none 19:00 63 45 1 153 (SSE) 514 mstly cldy none 20:00 59 51 2 228 (SW) 746 cloudy lt rain 21:00 53 44 12 22 (NNE) 616 cloudy rain 22:00 54 42 17 88 (E) 916 mstly cldy lt rain 23:00 60 42 8 350 (N) 641 mstly clr none 00:00 59 40 7 263 (W) 614 ptly cldy none 01:00 59 47 5 191 (S) 532 ptly cldy none 02:00 57 47 9 223 (SW) 548 mstly cldy none 03:00 55 49 8 193 (SSW) 620 ptly cldy none 04:00 54 50 7 192 (SSW) 524 clear none 05:00 54 52 4 233 (SW) 916 mstly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
