As soon as I confirmed it was going to pass south of us by more than 25 km (nearest lightning) I opened. Seeing was poor to moderate. Cloud cover was again bothersome and increased throughout the night until we were forced to give up on observations about 30 minutes before the start of twilght. No problems. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:21 dis-slit 30( 591) 51 71 15.5 19.4 18.0 18.3 17.5 --- 1.96 01:13 ECHELLE 60( -312) 206 81 15.4 14.9 15.3 14.6 14.9 ND2 1.23 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 69 43 12 252 (WSW) 1887 ptly cldy none 17:00 70 43 4 234 (SW) 1712 ptly cldy none 18:00 6 250 (WSW) 1887 ptly cldy none 19:00 5 257 (WSW) 2024 ptly cldy none 20:00 4 262 (W) 2098 clear none 21:00 63 41 8 258 (WSW) 2221 clear none 22:00 59 51 10 124 (SE) 1718 clear none 23:00 58 50 11 127 (SE) 1672 cloudy none 00:00 59 47 12 172 (S) 1662 cloudy none 01:00 60 49 10 181 (S) 2182 mstly cldy none 02:00 60 47 13 187 (S) 2067 ptly cldy none 03:00 59 45 8 182 (S) 1981 ptly cldy none 04:00 59 48 9 194 (SSW) 2009 cloudy none 05:00 58 49 9 205 (SSW) 2157 mstly cldy none 06:00 57 50 5 204 (SSW) 2084 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
