Around 11 pm an impressive storm outflow came through, followed a few hours later by an impressive storm. Power flickered but didn't go down long enough to trigger the generator. The spicam users spent a nice long time building up a library of dome flats at multiple rotations in their preferred filters for future use. Later, I did some examination of recent mysteries surrounding pointing and the tertiary mirror. At morning checkout, I found the NA2 rotator was off by 8 degrees. I wasn't sure if this had been caused by user error (mine, while changing rotations for the flat observations) or the power flickers. It seemed to have happened before the storm arrived, so it was probably user error. ------------- ACTIVITY LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 74 46 10 221 (SW) 4686 mstly cldy lt rain 17:00 58 50 10 216 (SW) 2621 mstly cldy none 18:00 68 49 4 221 (SW) 4233 mstly cldy none 19:00 66 43 10 267 (W) 4431 mstly cldy none 20:00 66 42 8 268 (W) 4284 mstly cldy none 21:00 62 43 8 233 (SW) 4161 mstly cldy none 22:00 62 41 10 236 (SW) 4000 mstly cldy none 23:00 57 46 27 75 (ENE) 6431 cloudy dust 00:00 54 47 40 69 (ENE) 3100 cloudy dust 01:00 53 43 28 74 (ENE) 807 cloudy dust 02:00 56 41 27 60 (ENE) 595 cloudy lt rain 03:00 52 43 24 64 (ENE) 1242 cloudy rain 04:00 49 45 23 67 (ENE) 1899 cloudy rain 05:00 55 42 13 117 (ESE) 535 cloudy lt rain ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 74 46 10 221 (SW) 4686 mstly cldy lt rain 17:00 58 50 10 216 (SW) 2621 mstly cldy none 18:00 68 49 4 221 (SW) 4233 mstly cldy none 19:00 66 43 10 267 (W) 4431 mstly cldy none 20:00 66 42 8 268 (W) 4284 mstly cldy none 21:00 62 43 8 233 (SW) 4161 mstly cldy none 22:00 62 41 10 236 (SW) 4000 mstly cldy none 23:00 57 46 27 75 (ENE) 6431 cloudy dust 00:00 54 47 40 69 (ENE) 3100 cloudy dust 01:00 53 43 28 74 (ENE) 807 cloudy dust 02:00 56 41 27 60 (ENE) 595 cloudy lt rain 03:00 52 43 24 64 (ENE) 1242 cloudy rain 04:00 49 45 23 67 (ENE) 1899 cloudy rain 05:00 55 42 13 117 (ESE) 535 cloudy lt rain Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
