I spent a while doing tests with APOLLO in hopes of reproducing some intermittent problems, with limited success. I did have some trouble with the eyelid for APOLLO, which has behaved as sort of a canary in the eyelid coalmine in the past -- apparently this canary isn't feeling very well. In addition, I did some tests of telescope tracking in possible trouble spots with the dome closed. Although I saw some interesting behavior on the telemetry, it was obviously not possible to correlate this against actual sky tracking in the absence of a sky. I gave Fritz timestamps for these tests so that hopefully he can analyze the telemetry in more depth. ------------- ACTIVITY LOG -------------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (STEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------- 16:00 72 48 8 184 (S) 4370 cloudy rain 17:00 59 47 7 189 (S) 3864 cloudy none 18:00 67 41 1 7 (N) 3168 cloudy none 19:00 66 44 7 53 (NE) 3712 cloudy none 20:00 65 45 13 82 (E) 3914 cloudy none 21:00 64 41 11 109 (ESE) 3071 cloudy none 22:00 64 35 20 128 (SE) 2195 cloudy none 23:00 62 36 15 86 (E) 2335 cloudy lt rain 00:00 60 38 16 81 (E) 2159 cloudy none 01:00 57 40 14 84 (E) 1875 mstly cldy none 02:00 53 45 17 83 (E) 7445 mstly cldy none 03:00 51 47 13 90 (E) 7434 ptly cldy none 04:00 51 46 8 105 (ESE) 7012 ptly cldy none 05:00 58 42 5 231 (SW) 5805 ptly cldy none 06:00 56 44 4 133 (SE) 5717 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
