Slews are working properly now. Thanks Fritz. 13:05 New DIS mask files for all standard slits (1.5, 2.0, 0.9, 5.0). 20:28 Tert tilts at NA2. 21:20 DIS thoughput data in: UT090712/DIS x4. 22:32 Pointing model at NA2: gcam/UT090712, data sent in previous email. Model was implemented because it was an improvement from previous model. Sky RMS = 5.26 Popn SD = 5.71 02:30 Tert tilts at NA1. After switching from Echelle to NA2 tert did not move properly: 08:59:19 .tcc.0 0 tcc F Modu="mir_o_MoveOneGalil"; Text="Tert returned an error message" 03:00 Tert Piston refinement. Struggled a bit with trying to get a focus. Seeing was too poor and bouncy to make this test doable. With this seeing and elevated dust, I closed for in-dome tests. 04:00 Agile stray light test. I think it's apparent if you compare files UT090712/Agile/flat.clear.0032.fits and flat.clothtr1.0034.fits the placement of the cloth made a difference. So where did I put it? Since the bottom truss lamp more-or-less faces TR2 some light reflects directly off the panel in front of TR2 and into the camera bypassing the secondary and tertiary. This does not happen at NA2 since the truss lamps are on the sides relative to the port. Covering that panel (all the white between the TR2 port and the opening to the tertiary) made the difference. At least that's my guess... I left the telescope locked at zenith thinking I may test the stray light issue further tomorrow afternoon. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:27 NA2gdr 1(37001) 62 35 16.7 19.3 18.5 17.9 17.5 Red ND2 1.85 20:57 NA2gdr 1(37001) -13 59 16.1 17.9 17.4 16.6 16.5 Red ND2 1.50 21:53 dis-slit 199(652) -126 27 15.1 16.3 16.3 15.2 15.4 2.79 22:14 dis-slit 122(498) 170 62 14.8 15.8 15.8 14.8 15.0 2.02 22:39 GUIDER 549(1145) 176 63 14.4 15.2 15.3 14.5 14.7 2.00 22:42 NA2gdr 3341(40341) 177 63 14.4 15.1 15.2 14.4 14.5 clear 1.39 00:45 APOLLO 200( 1259) 131 67 13.3 13.4 13.8 13.0 13.3 2.00 03:01 GUIDER 539( 1038) 68 57 12.6 13.1 13.4 12.7 12.9 1.81 03:05 NA2gdr 2414(39414) 67 57 12.8 13.0 13.4 12.6 12.9 1.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 71 32 9 88 (E) 1852 clear none 17:00 72 31 14 64 (ENE) 1628 clear none 18:00 69 30 11 102 (ESE) 1783 clear none 19:00 67 32 9 105 (ESE) 1983 clear none 20:00 64 35 14 88 (E) 2312 clear none 21:00 61 38 18 80 (E) 2857 clear dust 22:00 59 41 13 89 (E) 3254 clear dust 23:00 58 42 17 85 (E) 3195 clear dust 00:00 56 43 17 86 (E) 3645 clear dust 01:00 56 42 20 77 (ENE) 3605 clear dust 02:00 57 40 14 66 (ENE) 3179 clear dust 03:00 55 42 13 72 (ENE) 3384 clear dust 04:00 55 43 18 69 (ENE) 3685 clear dust 05:00 55 43 18 63 (ENE) 4083 clear dust Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
